Plant, Equipment and Traffic
- Only competent, trained and (where required) licensed persons may operate plant or equipment.
- Respect exclusion zones, use spotters where required, follow the traffic management plan, wear seatbelts, and complete pre‑start checks.
Housekeeping and Conduct
- Keep work areas clean before, during and after work; keep access/egress clear.
- Dispose of waste appropriately; glass bottles are prohibited. Toilets must be used; urinating elsewhere is forbidden.
- No yelling, abusive, discriminatory or harassing behaviour. Follow directions from supervisors and emergency wardens.

- Isolation and lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) is required before working on or near energised plant or services; only authorised persons may isolate.
Hazard/Incident Reporting, Emergency and First Aid
- Report hazards, near misses and incidents immediately to your supervisor or site management. Seek first aid and ensure all injuries are recorded.
- Familiarise yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures and muster points; follow directions during drills and emergencies.
High Risk Construction Work (HRCW) and Permits
- HRCW requires a current, task‑specific SWMS understood and signed before work starts.
- Permits are required where specified (e.g., hot work, confined spaces, excavation/service locations, energised electrical, cranes/lifting, controlled height work). Work must comply with permit conditions.
Working at Heights, Lifting, Excavation and Confined Spaces
- Manage fall risks at all heights per the hierarchy of controls; use edge protection or work platforms, and fall‑arrest where required. Only licensed/competent persons may alter scaffolds; use harnesses in EWPs.
- Lifting operations must follow lift plans and exclusion zones, using certified rigging/slinging; cranes/EWPs operated by licensed personnel.
- Before excavation, locate/verify services, use shoring or battering, barricade and signpost trenches; obtain required permits.
Hazardous Substances, Silica and Asbestos
- Use chemicals only with a current SDS, correct labelling and storage; implement exposure controls. For silica‑generating tasks, use dust suppression/HEPA extraction and appropriate RPE.
- Do not disturb suspected asbestos or other hazardous materials; stop work and notify site management immediately.
Smoking, Drugs/Alcohol and Fitness for Work
- Smoking/vaping only in designated areas. You must be fit for work at all times. Zero tolerance for alcohol or illegal drugs; testing may be conducted per policy.
- Sign in/out each day. Visitors must be escorted and follow all site instructions.
Working Hours
- Working hours must comply with the approved DA/CDC and council conditions. Typical hours: Mon–Fri 7:00–17:00; Saturday as approved (DA 8:00–13:00; CDC up to 7:00–17:00). Follow site‑specific approvals where posted.
